Jim Bent

An almost native of the Eastern Shore, Jim has been a resident of Talbot County for all but (2) two months of his life. Growing up near St. Michaels and enjoying time spent on Oak Creek and the beautiful Miles River. Two favorite views; from the bridge on St. Michaels Rd over Oak Creek and the Miles River looking west into Eastern Bay; the second from Docs Sunset Grill in Oxford, MD of the Tred Avon River southwest to the Chop tank River. The Eastern Shore is truly a Special Place.

Licensed since 2002 Real Estate is Jim’s second career and he plans to continue as long as the mind and body hold out. The opportunity to assist First Time Home Buyers find and purchase their first home, assist Former Clients as they graduate to a new home, Introduce the Eastern Shore to folks with an interest in relocating here either full or part-time, and not forget our Senior Citizens that may be ready to downsize – this was truly the right second career choice.

During those prior years or their first career, Jim enjoyed a successful thirty years in a retail food and gas business covering most of the eastern shores of Maryland & Virginia along with Delaware. With a desire to continue working with people but without the burden of employees, Jim earned his real estate license in 2002. With a business background, he brings a professional approach with attention to detail and a real understanding for the meaning of customer service throughout and beyond your real estate transaction.

A graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) his primary focus is Talbot, Dorchester, Caroline, and Queen Anne Counties (the Mid-Shore) but will work with clients anywhere in Maryland. Involved in several committees with the Mid-Shore Board of Realtors, Jim served as treasurer, membership, and affordable housing and currently sits with the Government Affairs Committee.

Community Service is an essential element and Jim currently serves as chair for the Town of Easton’s Affordable Housing Board, served on Talbot County’s workforce housing commission and has volunteered with organizations like the annual Water-Fowl Festival, Elks, and Kiwanis

Jim resides in Easton with his wife Patty and Gunner. They enjoy two Great Sons, four wonderful Grandchildren and enjoy having a brother and sister local as well. Working out of our 24 N Washington St Office Jim is ready to assist with all your real estate needs.
