Janet Larson is an Associate Broker with Benson & Mangold and has been one of Talbot County’s top producers for over 20 years, with nearly 500 local properties listed and sold. Her success stems from an unwavering dedication to providing buyers and sellers with the highest level of service and professionalism throughout every stage of their real estate journey.

This guiding principle has shaped Janet’s business, earning her the trust and loyalty of her clients. Her steady stream of repeat business and referrals reflects her exceptional performance as a real estate professional in the Mid-Shore area.

A resident of the region since 1985, Janet spent 12 years in Queen Anne’s County before settling in Talbot County in 1998. She is a graduate of Dickinson College, where she majored in Political Science and Environmental Studies.  Before entering real estate, Janet built a strong foundation in policy and advocacy, first as a lobbyist for the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce and later as a Legislative Assistant, focusing primarily on environmental issues, to two U.S. Senators on Capitol Hill. These experiences expanded her knowledge base and honed her negotiation and relationship-building skills, giving her valuable expertise that benefits her clients today.

Janet is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, the Maryland Association of REALTORS®, and the Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS®.  Her commitment to community engagement is evident in her past leadership roles on numerous local boards, including The Country School’s Parent Association and Board of Trustees, Gunston Day School’s Parent Association, and the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. She also supports the YMCA of the Chesapeake and contributed to "Project Idlewild," a local initiative to build a children's playground at Idlewild Park. 

A passionate sports enthusiast, Janet enjoys golf, tennis, pickleball, hiking, and boating—especially kayaking the serene rivers and creeks of the Mid-Shore area. "Being out on the water, paddling in the early mornings and evenings when the light is perfect, is like meditation to me," Janet shares. "It connects me with the natural world, and I feel so fortunate to experience our beautiful waterways."

Janet resides on a picturesque cove off the Miles River with her Labrador and Golden Retriever. She has three grown children, all living independently and thriving in their careers.
