About Jim Slattery
Jim was born in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Washington Irving High School, Tarrytown, NY and from New York University in 1962. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School and the Navy Supply School in 1962. He served on AGR-9 and was stationed at the Naval Air Station at Quonset Point, RI. Upon release from active duty, he graduated from the Washington & Lee School of Law in 1965. Jim practiced law in Providence, RI for three years and joined Itek Corporation as Assistant General Counsel. He then joined Lukens, Inc. as its Assistant General Counsel and General Counsel of Lukens Steel Company. In 1985 he became Vice President & General Counsel of Paradyne Corporation in Largo, Florida. Jim retired in 2002 as its Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Intellectual Property Officer. Upon retirement he moved to Savannah, GA. and became a board member and President of The Landings Real Estate Company. He moved to Easton in 2002 and became a licensed real estate agent in 2008.
Jim is a former member of the bars of Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Florida. He served as board member and president of the Talbot County Department of Social Services Advisory Board and served on the Talbot County Assessment Appeals Board. He is currently a member of the Tred Avon Yacht Club and the Poplar Island Yacht Club.
Jim and his wife, Noel, have two sons and five grandchildren.
