About Alfred B. “Tim” Kagan
Tim has lived on the Eastern Shore since 1973 when he relocated to Easton,Md, from Short Hills,NJ, where he ran his family’s third-generation meat packing business. He has been a licensed realtor inMarylandsince 1974. He founded the local real estate firm Kagan & Associates, Inc. in 1978. He is also Chairman of Family Ministries, Inc. and serves as President of Kanew, Inc. He is President and CEO of Kagan Investments, LLC. He is a Certified Residential Broker (CRB) and a Graduate, REALTORS Institute (GRI). Through developing personal relationships and contributing to the community through his civic roles, Tim strives to meet his clients’ needs personally and professionally.
Over the years, Tim has been an active member of the Mid-Shore Board of Realtors, serving as its President from 1985 to 1986 and as a Director for five years. In 1988 he was named Mid-Shore Board of Realtors’ “Realtor of the Year.” He was a founding member of the Board’s Multiple Listing System (MLS) in 1981 and served on the MLS Committee through 1988 and was a member and Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee (1986 – 1998). He has also been active on numerous State Board of Realtors committees, including the Executive Committee (1987-1988) and the Professional Standards Committee (1985 – 2005), serving as its Chairman in 1992, as well as serving as a Maryland Director (1985 – 1988).
Tim has been active in a variety of civic organizations in the community since his arrival in the early 1970s, especially with the Rotary Club of Easton of which he has been a member since 1977. Most recently, Tim served as the organization’s President in 2010-2011, was awarded the Donald F. Osburn Club Service Award (2012) and has been a Paul Harris Fellow multiple times and a Benefactor between 1987 and today. He has also been personally involved in Rotary International’s work to eradicate polio across the globe, traveling toIndiain 2010 to administer polio vaccinations. In 2010, the Rotary established the “Alfred B. “Tim” Kagan, Jr. Duz Award” to honor Rotarians going above and beyond the call of duty as Tim has done.
In addition to the Rotary, Tim has been involved with the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce, having served as a Director, and was selected as its “Businessman of the Year” in 1986. He has been a member and director of the Historical Society of Talbot County and a member of the United Fund of Talbot County. He has also served on the boards for Bethany House, the Heart Fund of Talbot County, For All Seasons and the Brighter Christmas Fund, and has served as a Character Coach for Character Counts Mid-Shore. He is a member of the Republican Leadership Council of Talbot County and the Republican Central Committee of Talbot County. He is also an elder with Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Tim lives in Easton with his wife Sally E. Kagan. They have three sons and six grandchildren and enjoy traveling across the country to visit their family. Tim also enjoys reading and sailing.
